Relationship Counseling

Every relationship goes through hard seasons. We're here to help you find your way back to each other.

what is relationship counseling?

Relationships take work. We make it a little easier.

Relationship counseling is a space where couples, families, and individuals can explore the dynamics that shape their most important connections. Whether you're navigating conflict, communication breakdowns, major life transitions, or simply want to strengthen what you already have — therapy can help.

No relationship is perfect, and coming to counseling doesn't mean something is broken. It means you care enough to invest in it.

who we work with

Relationship counseling is for everyone.
Couples

Whether you're dating, engaged, married, or partnered — at any stage of your relationship — we work with couples of all backgrounds and orientations.

Families

Family therapy helps improve communication, resolve conflict, and strengthen the bonds between family members — including parents, children, and siblings.

Individuals

You don't need a partner to benefit from relationship counseling. Individual therapy can help you understand your patterns, improve communication, and build healthier connections.

Pre-Marital

Pre-marital counseling is one of the best investments you can make before saying "I do." We help couples build a strong foundation for the road ahead.

our approach

Evidence-based. Warm. Relational.

Our approach to relationship counseling integrates evidence-based techniques with a warm, empathetic style — ensuring every couple and family feels heard and supported. Elena uses Gottman Method Couples Therapy as a primary framework, one of the most researched approaches to relationship therapy in the world.

What is the Gottman Method?

Developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman over five decades of research, the Gottman Method is built on the science of what makes relationships thrive. It is designed to support couples across all economic, racial, sexual orientation, and cultural sectors — and is backed by rigorous, peer-reviewed research.

The Sound Relationship House

The Gottman Method integrates research-based interventions based on the Sound Relationship House theory, helping couples strengthen their relationships in three primary areas: friendship, conflict management, and creation of shared meaning.

What to Expect

Couples begin treatment with an assessment process and an overview of what the Gottman Method is. Each partner establishes a relationship with the therapist by sharing their history, their relationship philosophy, and their goals for treatment. From there, sessions are tailored to your unique relationship.

Does It Work?

Studies show that couples who participate in Gottman-based therapy report improved communication, increased satisfaction, and a reduction in conflict behaviors. The method's emphasis on both friendship and conflict management makes it adaptable for many relationship types and life stages.

Elena has completed Gottman Certifications and Trainings, Adlerian Training, and additional relationship-focused trainings. She is committed to ongoing education and selecting training that incorporates cultural responsiveness — enabling her to effectively work with couples and families from diverse backgrounds and with varying relationship dynamics.

Relationship counseling process

how it works

Our Process.
Step 1 — Submit an Application

Fill out our New Client Application and let us know you're interested in relationship counseling. Our team will reach out to schedule your initial consultation.

Step 2 — Initial Consultation

Before beginning services, we require a $100 consultation session. This gives us the opportunity to learn more about your relationship, your goals, and determine whether we are the right fit for you.

Step 3 — Begin Your Work Together

Once the consultation is complete and we've determined it's a good fit, we'll schedule your first full session and get started on the work that matters most.

A Note on Insurance

Relationship counseling is a private pay service. Couples and relationship therapy is not typically covered by insurance, as insurance requires an individual diagnosis to reimburse for services. You are welcome to check with your insurance provider to see if they offer any coverage. We are happy to provide a superbill upon request.
