Sidney Hartwig, Child & Family Coordinator, LMHCA
Hello! I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University. I completed my practicum and internship at Dragonfly Counseling under the supervision of Dr. Andrea Charles. My educational background also includes a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development with a certificate in Adolescent Development from Washington State University.
Over the years, I’ve served the Lewis Clark Valley in various roles supporting children, teens, and young adults in the mental health and developmental disabilities field in a variety of settings including home, community, and schools.
My clinical focus centers on supporting children and teens through play therapy interventions, mindfulness practices, motivational interviewing, and EMDR. I am especially passionate about working with neurodiverse clients and providing affirming care to queer youth. I believe in creating a therapeutic space where young people feel safe to explore their identities, values, and goals—empowering them to better understand who they are and how they want to move through the world.
Helping clients work toward meaningful change, personal growth, and improved quality of life is at the heart of my practice. In addition to my clinical work, I serve as the Child and Family Coordinator for our office, where I support the development and implementation of policies specific to child clients. I also mentor incoming clinicians on child- and family-focused protocols and assist with administrative responsibilities as they relate to services for children and families.
When I’m not in the office, I enjoy making art, spending time outdoors, and spoiling my cats, Rosie and Ruth.
